As there are so many different items and belongings that can be transported during a move, there are a plethora of different pointers, tricks, and methods that can be used to make the actual transition more effective and less of a headache for anyone concerned.
However, with our moving tips, you can arm yourself with professionally time-tested strategies for transporting a variety of objects, from big items to fragile pieces of art or even belongings that do not have a “normal” shape. The smoother your step is for you, the more you'll be able to look forward to where you'll be when it's over!
TOP moving tips:
- Start planning your move ahead of time. Give us a call as soon as you know your moving day, so we will try to accommodate you with the day and time, especially if you need to reserve the freight elevator. It is preferable to make a reservation at least 4 weeks in advance.
- If you planning to do all the packing by yourself, start as soon as possible. You don't want to be stuck packing up everything the night before the movers show up. If you seeing that you could not make it till your moving day, let us know at least the day before and we will try to accommodate your needs and would be happy to help you even on the same day.
- Label all the boxes, so it will be easier for movers to place each box in right place at your new home and then easier for you to unpack.
- Please empty all chest of drawers and place the content in separate boxes.
- For all animal lovers, we love animals too, but please vacuum and remove any fur from the furniture.
- If you are completing your packing, please make sure that all containers are carefully sealed, taped along every seam, and labeled with permanent marker on two sides and the top.
- Make arrangements to move all valuables, perishables, and flammables with your own vehicle.
- Disconnect all appliances and electronics.
- Don't pack any open liquids. They may leak and damage other boxes during moving process.
- Clean all the outside furniture from dust.
- Please take the most valuable items, like jewelry, currency and documents travel with you.
